Downhill Skiing/Snowboarding - Brighton Ski Resort 12/4/24



Sample Itinerary:

Resort - 10:00 am

Lesson - 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Lunch - 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (can bring your own or buy there)

Ski (on your own) - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm


Directions: Brighton Ski Resort, Big Cottonwood Canyon

Meet at Brighton Center Building (by the ticket office)


Cost: $50 + (estimate) Tickets

First Wednesdays of December is "Charitable Wednesdays" at Brighton and are a great time to take beginners.


Activity: Beginner Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding Clinics for one hour, then ski/snowboard on your own for the day! Explorer (bunny hill) and Magestic (beginner) lifts. Great Western and Crest Express (intermediate).


Bathrooms - bottom floor of lower building next to parking lot

Dogs -no


Gear: Downhill skis/boots/poles or snowboard and boots, helmet, (NO COTTON) thermal top and bottom, wool socks or just not cotton socks, snow pants, long sleeve fleece, down or puffy coat, light waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, 2 snacks in your coat, packed lunch, water bottles (in car), backpack (if you want to carry stuff on the mountain)


Rentals (on your own): 

  • Downhill ski package - includes skis, poles, boots: ($20 UVU Outdoor Adventure Center - includes helmet); ($25 BYU Outdoors Unltd); ($55 Brighton)

  • Snowboard: ($20 UVU Outdoor adventure Center includes helmet); ($25 BYU Outdoors unltd - no helmet); ($55 Brighton)

  • Helmet - $6 (BYU Outdoors Unltd); ($21 - Brighton)
