Training - Downhill Skiing (Assistant Guide Conf) - Alta, Little Cottonwood Cyn 3/26/22

Drive: I-15 north, east 9000 s, up Little Cottonwood Cyn to Alta Ski Resort at the end of the road, lower parking lot. Meet in front of the Ski School.

Activity:

Downhill Skiing Clinic - ski down to the free Snow Pine lift. Discuss 6 ski techniques:

getting into skis, sliding/getting up from a fall, wedge stop, wedge turn, hands on

outside turning leg, bringing uphill ski in during turns (optional - skiing backwards)

Elate online Ski School Lessons

Gear: Downhill skiis, poles, boots, helmet, long sleeve synthetic shirt, liner pants, ski pants, ski coat, gloves, hat, goggles, sunscreen

Rentals: Downhill ski package ($17 BYU Outdoors Unlimited, $18 with helmet UVU
