Activity: Hike Lower Calf Creek Falls - 6.1 mile out and back to a waterfall. Flat, sandy trail along a stream. All Trails Trip Report. (little sun along the trail, but not too hot, lots of shade. Water was cold and felt nice at the falls.) There are petroglyphs on the hike if you know where to look.

Gear: Hiking shorts/pants, synthetic T-shirt, long sleeve synthetic top, long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack with waist belt, 2-3 Liters water, 4-6 snacks, lunch, first aid kit, hiking boots/running shoes

Tips:

  • Optional: bring or wear a swimsuit if you want to take a dip in the pool at the bottom of the falls. The water is COLD but awesome on a hot day.

  • A water filter is also useful on this trail if you don’t want to pack as much water. There is plenty of access to cold spring water along the trail.

  • Torry has last gas at the Phillips 66 (with a Subway for and easy lunch - gas not cheap)

  • Loa and Bicknell has cheapest gas in the area
