Training - Rock Climbing (Rocktober) Red Rocks, Draper 10/14/24 and 10/28/24



Sample Itinerary:

Knots/Anchors - 430-530 pm

Set up - 530-6 pm

Climbing - 6-630 pm


Directions: Red Rock Crag, Draper - hike up the trail about 5 min to the climb area following the "Red Rocks" signs. We usually climb on the far left 2 climbs. Top rope access is to the right. (this climbing area stays in the shade most of the day with 2 benches. Easy climbs are on the left and right areas and the 5.10's are in the center - left. All routes bolted.


Activity:

Training -

  • Knots - Figure 8 follow through, figure 8 on a bite, fishermans

  • Anchors - Quick draw, Quad

  • Top Rope - Set up

  • Climbing Techniques (if we have time) - straight arms, twisting


Bathrooms - no

Cell Phone Reception - yes

Dogs - yes, leashed


Gear: Harness (can rent), helmet (can rent), exercise clothing, hiking shoes, climbing shoes (can rent), 1-2 L water, daypack, 2-4 snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, first aid kit
