Winter Retreat - Bryce Cyn 1/24-26/25



Itinerary:

Day 1 -


Day 2 -

  • 7:00 am (Optional) Sunrise @ Sunrise Point. Rises at 7:18am

  • 8:30 - 9:30 am Breakfast (included, at Ruby's Inn. Breakfast hours 6:30am - 10:00am)

  • 9:30 -11:00 am Yoga & Sound Bath

  • Lunch (on own)

  • 1:00 pm Hike - Navajo Loop & Queens Garden (Intro Clinic, 3 miles) OR Navajo Loop to Peekaboo Loop (Intermediate, 5 miles).

  • Dinner (on own)

  • 6:30pm - 8:00pm Bryce Ice Skating Ribbon  (Optional. On your own activity. You assume risk.) $7 total for skates & outdoor skating. (we found the ice skate rentals to be pretty painful) *MUST fill out Ice skating Waiver

  • Pool/Hot Tub/Games


Day 3 -

  • Breakfast (included, at Ruby's Inn. Breakfast hours 6:30am - 10:00am)

  • Checkout 11:00 am

  • Hikes on your own, Drive and/or church - 10 or 11 am in Panguitch.

  • Drive Home


HOTEL: Ruby's Inn - 2 King beds/room

Each room has 2 keys & 2 free breakfast vouchers.


BREAKFAST

Breakfast is INCLUDED in hotel. 6:30-10:00am at Restaurant next to Lobby. Other meals not included. 1 breakfast voucher is for 4 adults. Come with people in your room for breakfast. Give hostess paper voucher. So 1 voucher for your room for Saturday. 2nd paper voucher for Sunday. Restaurant open 6:30 am - 9:00 pm

Activities: (No snow scheduled. Planning on Hikes with micro spikes/ice cleats instead).


  •  Cross Country Ski or Hike Rim Trail - ski 1.5 total out and back to the rim (easy and flat) or complete the 3 mile loop (easy-moderate; to counter clockwise) on edge of Bryce Canyon! Groomed generally. Get rentals at the Rubys Inn Winter Adventure Center. Start trail at the north east corner of parking lot.

  • Snowshoe/microspike - Queens Garden/Navajo Loop 3.3 mi (moderate) All Trails Trip Report

  • Snowshoe/microspike - Navajo and Peekaboo Loop 5 mi (moderate) All Trails Trip Report


Cost: $76 for Hotel (shared queen beds) venmo @mtmamas by Jan 5th

 $35 per vehicle Bryce Canyon entrance fee; free if you have National Parks Pass


Gear:  Ice Cleats- strongly encouraged. Trails are dry with some ice patches. Good to have especially if you have knee, hip or balance concerns. (NO COTTON) thermal top and bottom (synthetic yoga pants), wool socks or just not cotton socks, snow pants (if it will be snowing, otherwise they get too hot), long sleeve fleece, light waterproof jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camelback or regular back pack (with space remaining to shove clothes in when you get too warm), 1 Liters water, 3-4 snacks +road trip snacks and such, toiletries, casual clothing, swimsuit, yoga mat, National Parks Pass (if have), telescope or binoculars for star gazing (optional), card/board games (optional), $ for lunches and dinners. Breakfast is included.


Rentals: 

Cross Country Ski rental (Ruby's Inn Adventure Center, Bryce Canyon NP - $15 full day and $10 after 1pm)

Snowshoe rental (Ruby's Inn Adventure Center, Bryce Canyon NP - $15 full day and $10 after 1pm) Ice Skating Pass and Rental (Ruby's Inn Adventure Center, Bryce Canyon NP - $7)
