Youth Hiking - Dripping Rock, Spanish Fk 4/29/24

Perfect place to play when it's hot and with a paved trail, you can bring strollers or wagons too.

Sample Itinerary:

9-10:30 am - Hike


Directions: Dripping Rock Trailhead, Spanish Fk


Activity: Hiking Dripping Rock - 0.7 mi round trip. Follow paved slightly uphill trail starting south east in the parking lot. Follow along the stream to the second bridge. This is usually where we turn around. You will notice a bench on the left of the trail on the way up. This is where the dripping rocks are. Water drips down through the overhanging soil. Great place to play in the shallow stream on the closer side of the stream (see warnings below).  All Trails Trip Report


Tips: WARNINGS

  • The overhanging rocks and soil areas have collapsed and can be very dangerous to stand under.

  • Spring runoff makes this river VERY dangerous. Stay out of water in late May through June.
